Every project photographs everything it builds. What it lacks is a register: one record of who took each photo, where and when, that the whole team can search. Instead that record is pieced together after the fact from phones, chat threads and inboxes, usually when a claim or a dispute has made it urgent. Wenvar removes that work. The record is made at the moment of capture, and the systems a project already runs draw from it.

Wenvar is made by Wenvar Pty Ltd, an Australian company on the Gold Coast. It is designed for site conditions: the register uses the language site people use, the camera works with gloves on, and the record is made at the moment of capture rather than reconstructed weeks later.

It is founder-built and independently owned.

From the founder

I am an engineer, and I have spent years on major projects around Australia. Two things kept costing time. The first was finding the right photo of a specific moment, whether for a quality check, a dispute, or simply proof that something was done. The second was moving photos between people: subcontractors rarely have access to the head contractor’s systems, so a chat group appears, photos are forwarded and copied into folders by hand, and the record breaks up across phones and platforms.

The systems a project runs do many things well, but they treat the photograph as an attachment. On a construction site it is the primary record, used for a dozen purposes, and it has to reach the right people without anyone re-filing it. I built Wenvar to do that one job properly and to supplement those systems, not replace them.

Engineers should be building and managing the project, not creating folders for photos or hunting for one taken years ago.
